The Security Director is responsible the development and implementation of the Centers security program.

The Director will build, improve and maintain an effective relationship with the client, tenants and employees, develop a professional staff, and coordinate support services to effectively manage the site and meet or exceed the operational goals of the account. The Security Directors performance will be evaluated based on, but not limited to, meeting identified goals, attaining contracted agreements with the client, organizational and staff development, quality customer service and maintaining optimum operational practices.

Essential Functions:
  • Assist the Group Director and District Recruiters in identifying, interviewing and hiring quality candidates.
  • Develop a professional security staff through training and performance management
  • Prepare staffing schedules to ensure the most efficient use of resources.
  • Develop / maintain site-specific OPM and post orders, which are available for use by the security staff.
  • Review all reports and logs and provide daily summary to Center Management.
  • Perform account audits and off-hour visits, completing required documentation.
  • Manage uniforms, equipment, supplies & vehicles and ensure these are in good condition and maintain in the appropriate quantities.
  • Meet regularly with the General Manager providing security and technical expertise and solutions.
  • Compile statistical data and prepare trend information for Center Management.
  • Serve as the liaison between the Center and local public agencies.
  • Be accessible and responsive 24/7.
  • Provide an on-going method of communication with staff, such as the Read file and staff meetings.
  • Address employee concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure employees are properly hired, assigned, trained and paid in accordance with AlliedBarton policies.

Qualifications:
  • BA + 3 years business / security experience or 5 years business / security experience, including a minimum of one year experience in a shopping center or other similar facility highly desired
  • Valid Drivers license
  • Valid State BSIS License
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, e-mail, internet skills)
  • Accessible 24/7 / flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Financial / mathematical aptitude
  • Good-to-excellent verbal and written skills
  • Motivated, able to work well both independently and part of a team
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and complete tasks as assigned
  • Patience and flexibility a necessity
  • Law enforcement experience highly desired
